What is i2n Angels?

We are a group of accredited investors who are motivated by several factors, including an interest in uncovering access to quality investment opportunities; exposure to early-stage and tech-focused ideas, technologies, and companies; the opportunity to lift Pennsylvania’s economic competitiveness while also giving back through coaching and advising rising entrepreneurs; and who want to be part of an organization with like-minded colleagues.  The i2n Angels facilitates presentations from selected early-stage, tech-focused companies, startups and entrepreneurs seeking to present to its members. 

Why early stage funding instead of later stage funding?

Our research uncovered that there is a lack of early stage funding opportunities available for startups and entrepreneurs across southeastern Pennsylvania. Members of i2n Angels appreciate and understand this need, and want to help these qualified early stage companies and innovators.  

Can anyone join i2n Angels?

Membership in i2n Angels is open to accredited investors. While there are no geographic boundaries or other restrictions and requirements, our general focus is to welcome members who are based in southeastern Pennsylvania or have some affiliation with southeastern Pennsylvania even if they are now located somewhere else in the world.  The i2n Angels facilitates presentations from selected early-stage, tech-focused companies, startups and entrepreneurs seeking to present to its members. 

So those located outside of southeastern Pennsylvania can join i2n Angels?

Yes, members located outside of southeastern Pennsylvania can join meetings virtually or send a representative, with prior discussion and approval from the ED, AED and or Operating Committee chairs. 

Is there a fee to join i2n Angels ?

Yes, membership in i2n Angels costs $500 annually, and these funds help to cover the general administration and operations of the group. 

Is there a fee for an early stage company to present to i2n Angels?

While there is no fee to apply to present to i2n Angels, all applicants who are accepted to present to i2n Angels are required to pay $325 to become an i2n Entrepreneur.  Benefits of being an i2n Entrepreneur include free access to i2n programs and events; access to strategic connections; coaching and advisory services; workspace solutions; and funding options. Note that this fee is only required if an applicant is accepted to present to i2n Angels. If an applicant prefers not to pay this $325 fee to become a member of i2n, their invitation to present to i2n Angels will be rescinded.  If an applicant to i2n Angels is invited to present, and is already a current i2n member, they do not need to pay an additional $325.     

What requirements are there to be a member of i2n Angels?

Members of i2n Angels must meet several requirements, including: being an accredited investor; attending the majority of i2n Angel meetings annually; and making at least one investment in or serious interest in an i2n Angels presenting company over the course of 36 months. 

How many i2n Angles members are there?

The i2n Angels group is launching in 2025, and we expect to welcome between 25 and 50 members within the first year of operations. 

What is i2n?

Since 2008, the Ideas x Innovation Network (i2n) has been helping entrepreneurs and startups across southeastern Pennsylvania to transform their ideas from concept to commercialization.  The launch of i2n Angels in 2025 is an important new element in the toolkit of services offered by i2n.
